Code Ownership
All code created as part of your PropellerDeck project belongs to you. Whether it was written by AI-assisted development tools or edited by a human, you receive full exclusive usage rights to everything in your GitHub repository.
Your Rights
When you use PropellerDeck, you receive:
- Exclusive usage rights (ausschließliche Nutzungsrechte) to all code in your GitHub repository
- No time restrictions — your rights do not expire
- No territorial restrictions — your rights apply worldwide
- Full commercial use — you may use, modify, distribute, and sublicense the code without limitation
Albatros Coding does not claim any usage rights to your project code. You are the sole rights holder for all exploitation and usage purposes.
AI-Generated Code
Code produced by AI development tools within PropellerDeck is generated without significant human creative input from Albatros Coding's side. Under German law, works that lack sufficient personal intellectual creation (persönliche geistige Schöpfung) do not qualify for copyright protection and are considered public domain (gemeinfrei). This means there is no competing copyright claim on AI-generated output — the exclusive usage rights granted to you are unencumbered.
Where human developers at Albatros Coding contribute creatively (e.g., code review, manual edits), the exclusive usage rights to those contributions are transferred to you as well.
GitHub Repository Control
Your code lives in your own GitHub repository. You have full control over:
- Repository access and permissions
- Branching and deployment workflows
- Third-party integrations and CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborator management
Albatros Coding accesses your repository only to provide the PropellerDeck service (e.g., running coding agents) and does not retain copies of your code beyond what is necessary for service delivery.
Account Termination
When your account ends — whether by cancellation, expiration, or any other reason:
- Your code stays with you — nothing is deleted from your repository
- No access revocation — your GitHub repository remains fully under your control
- No retroactive restrictions — rights granted to you are perpetual and irrevocable
Legal Note: Urheberrecht and Nutzungsrechte
German copyright law (Urheberrechtsgesetz, UrhG) distinguishes between two concepts:
- Urheberrecht (moral copyright): The personal, non-transferable right of an author. Under German law, copyright cannot be sold, transferred, or waived — it always remains with the original creator.
- Nutzungsrechte (usage/exploitation rights): The right to use, reproduce, distribute, and commercially exploit a work. These rights can be granted exclusively and without restriction.
What PropellerDeck grants you are exclusive Nutzungsrechte — the full right to use, modify, distribute, and sublicense all code in your project. Since Urheberrecht is a moral right that stays with the creator by law, it cannot be transferred. However, because you hold the exclusive Nutzungsrechte, you have complete practical control over the code and its commercial exploitation.
For fully AI-generated code without significant human creative input, German law does not recognize Urheberrecht at all — such works are gemeinfrei (public domain), and the exclusive Nutzungsrechte granted to you are the only rights that exist.
