Navigating the Interface

An overview of the PropellerDeck layout including the sidebar, top bar, dual-pane content area, and adjustable divider.

Navigating the Interface

PropellerDeck uses a consistent layout across the platform. Once you are familiar with the main sections, you will be able to move quickly between your workspaces, tools, and conversations.

The Sidebar

The left sidebar contains the primary navigation icons. Hover over any icon to see its label, or click it to navigate:

  • Dashboard — your home view with recent activity, quick actions, and workspace summaries.
  • Prompts — access and manage your saved AI prompts.
  • Workspaces — view and switch between all of your workspaces.
  • Workflows — build and run automated multi-step AI workflows.

The Top Bar

The top bar runs across the top of the screen and provides quick access to global controls:

  • Help button — opens the help center, where you can search articles and browse categories.
  • Notifications bell — shows recent alerts, updates, and activity related to your account and workspaces.
  • Profile dropdown — access your account settings, preferences, and the option to log out.

Dual-Pane Layout

The main content area is split into two panes:

  • Content area (left) — displays the active workspace content. This area uses a tab system so you can have multiple documents, notebooks, or views open at once. See Tab System Overview for more details.
  • Chat panel (right) — your AI conversation interface. This is where you interact with your AI agents in the context of the open workspace. See Chat Interface to learn more.

Adjustable Divider

You can resize the two panes by clicking and dragging the vertical divider between them. Each pane has a minimum width of 20% of the total screen width to ensure both remain usable. Drag the divider left to give more space to the chat panel, or right to expand the content area.
