Tab System Overview

Learn how to use the multi-tab interface in the PropellerDeck content area to work with multiple documents, notebooks, and tools at the same time.

Tab System Overview

The content area (left pane) in PropellerDeck uses a multi-tab interface, letting you keep several documents, tools, and views open at the same time without losing your place.

Opening a New Tab

Click the "+" button at the right end of the tab bar to open a new tab. A menu appears listing all available tab types. Click the type you want to open it immediately.

You can have up to 20 tabs open simultaneously in a single workspace.

Tab Types

PropellerDeck supports the following tab types:

  • Markdown — a plain-text editor for formatted writing. See Markdown Tab.
  • Notebook — a Jupyter-like Python notebook environment. See Notebook Tab.
  • EditorJS — a block-based rich text editor with support for images, videos, and diagrams.
  • File Browser — browse, upload, and manage all files in your workspace. See File Browser Tab.
  • Project Browser — view tasks and projects linked to the workspace.
  • Workflow Browser — search and load saved workflows.
  • Time Manager — book time, view team schedules, and plan capacity.

Managing Tabs

  • Switch tabs — click any tab in the tab bar to make it active.
  • Rename a tab — double-click the tab title, type the new name, then press Enter to confirm.
  • Close a tab — click the "X" icon on the right side of the tab. Unsaved changes will prompt a confirmation before closing.
  • Reorder tabs — click and drag a tab left or right to change its position in the bar.

Tips

If you reach the 20-tab limit, close tabs you no longer need before opening new ones. Tabs are restored the next time you open the workspace, so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
