Chat Not Responding

If the AI chat in PropellerDeck is not responding to your messages, work through the following steps to identify and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection

A dropped or unstable connection is the most common cause of an unresponsive chat. Verify that your device is connected to the internet and that other websites or services are loading normally before proceeding.

Step 2: Refresh the Page

A simple page refresh resolves many temporary issues. Press F5 (Windows/Linux) or Ctrl+R (Windows/Linux) / Cmd+R (Mac) to reload PropellerDeck. Once the page reloads, try sending a message again.

Step 3: Clear Chat Memory

If the chat panel is stuck or behaving unexpectedly, clearing the chat memory can reset the session state:

1. In the chat panel, locate the trash icon at the top of the panel.
2. Click the trash icon to clear the current chat memory.
3. Confirm when prompted.

This does not delete any files or workspace data — it only clears the active conversation context.

Step 4: Switch Workspace and Switch Back

Navigating away from your current workspace and returning can refresh the chat connection:

1. Click on a different workspace in the left sidebar.
2. Wait a moment, then navigate back to your original workspace.
3. Try the chat again.

Step 5: Log Out and Log Back In

If the above steps have not resolved the issue, log out of PropellerDeck and sign in again. This refreshes your session entirely. See Logging In for the sign-in process.

Check Your Token Budget

If chat remains unavailable after all the above steps, your daily token budget may be exhausted. When the budget runs out, AI responses are paused until the daily reset at midnight UTC. Check your usage in Settings > Plan or Usage. If you need immediate access, upgrading your plan resets your budget instantly. See Token Budgets for more details.
