Switching Workspaces
PropellerDeck lets you move between workspaces at any time without losing your progress. Each workspace is completely independent, so switching is equivalent to stepping away from one project and picking up another.
How to Switch Workspaces
- Locate the workspace dropdown in the left sidebar. It displays the name of your currently active workspace.
- Click the dropdown to expand the list of your available workspaces.
- Click the workspace you want to switch to.
The interface will reload into the selected workspace immediately. No data from your previous workspace is carried over.
What Changes When You Switch
Switching workspaces replaces the entire environment. The following all change to reflect the workspace you switched to:
- Files — the File Browser shows only files belonging to the selected workspace.
- AI Agent — the agent's configuration (system prompt, tools, skills, model) resets to whatever is configured for that workspace.
- Chat History — the conversation log shown in the Chat tab is specific to the workspace.
- Settings — cloud sync, tools, and other settings reflect the selected workspace's configuration.
Nothing from your previous workspace is visible or accessible while you are in a different one. If you need the same file or instruction in multiple workspaces, you will need to upload or configure it in each one separately.
Keeping Track of Workspaces
If you have many workspaces, clear naming helps you find the right one quickly. Consider including the client name, project, or timeframe in each workspace name. For guidance, see Creating a Workspace.
