Cloud Sync

Set up Dropbox or Google Drive synchronisation for a workspace in PropellerDeck so your files stay in sync across platforms.

Cloud Sync

PropellerDeck can synchronise the files in a workspace with a folder in your Dropbox or Google Drive account. Once connected, files flow in both directions — uploads inside PropellerDeck appear in the cloud folder, and files added to the cloud folder appear in the workspace.

Cloud sync is configured per workspace, so different workspaces can connect to different cloud folders or use different cloud storage providers.

Connecting Dropbox

  1. Open the workspace you want to sync and click the gear icon (⚙️) to open Workspace Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Cloud Sync section and click Connect Dropbox.
  3. A browser window will open asking you to authorise PropellerDeck to access your Dropbox account. Sign in and click Allow.
  4. Back in PropellerDeck, use the folder selector to choose which Dropbox folder to sync with this workspace.
  5. Click Save to activate the sync.

Connecting Google Drive

  1. Open the workspace you want to sync and click the gear icon (⚙️) to open Workspace Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Cloud Sync section and click Connect Google Drive.
  3. A Google authentication window will appear. Select your Google account and grant the requested permissions.
  4. Use the folder selector to choose the Google Drive folder to sync.
  5. Click Save to activate the sync.

How Sync Works

Once connected, cloud sync is bidirectional:

  • Uploads — files you upload to the workspace are automatically copied to the connected cloud folder.
  • Downloads — files added to the cloud folder are pulled into the workspace.
  • Deletions — deleting a file in the workspace removes it from the cloud folder as well, and vice versa. Take care before deleting files, as this action cascades to both sides.

Disconnecting Cloud Sync

To remove the sync connection, return to Workspace Settings, scroll to Cloud Sync, and click Disconnect next to the active provider. Existing files in the workspace are not deleted when you disconnect, but they will no longer sync going forward.
