Workspace Templates
Workspace templates let organisations standardise how new workspaces are set up. Instead of configuring every workspace from scratch, team members can start from a pre-built template that already has the right agent settings, tools, skills, and system prompt in place.
What Templates Pre-Configure
When an organisation admin creates a template, they define a baseline configuration that gets applied to any workspace created from it. A template can include:
- Agent Settings — the default model and any global agent behaviour.
- Tools — which tools are enabled or disabled by default.
- Skills — which skill sets are active.
- System Prompt — standing instructions that all workspaces based on the template share.
When you create a workspace from a template, all of these settings are copied in. You can still modify them afterwards in Workspace Settings — the template is just a starting point, not a lock.
Using a Template When Creating a Workspace
- Open the workspaces panel in the left sidebar and click New.
- In the creation dialog, look for the Template dropdown or selector.
- Choose the template you want to use from the list.
- Enter your workspace name and optional description, then click Submit.
The new workspace will open with the template's configuration already applied.
Who Can Create Templates
Only organisation admins can create and manage workspace templates. If you need a new template or want to update an existing one, contact your organisation's admin. For information on managing templates as an admin, see Managing Workspace Templates.
If no templates are available in the creation dialog, your organisation may not have any set up yet, or you may not be part of an organisation. See What Is a Workspace? and Creating a Workspace for general workspace guidance.
