File Browser Tab

Browse, upload, search, and manage all files in your workspace using the File Browser tab, including folder navigation, drag-and-drop uploads, and right-click actions.

File Browser Tab

The File Browser tab gives you a full view of every file and folder stored in your current workspace. You can navigate the folder hierarchy, upload new files, search by name or type, and perform common file actions — all without leaving PropellerDeck.

Opening the File Browser Tab

Click the "+" button in the tab bar and select File Browser. The tab opens and displays the root of your workspace file system.

Files are organised in a folder hierarchy. Click the arrow to the left of any folder name to expand or collapse it. Click a folder name to open it and display its contents in the main panel. A breadcrumb trail at the top of the panel shows your current location and lets you jump back to any parent folder with a single click.

Searching and Filtering

Use the search bar at the top of the file browser to find files by name. Results update as you type.

To narrow results further, use the filter controls to show only files of a specific type (documents, images, notebooks, etc.) or from a particular source (uploaded, synced from cloud storage, and so on).

Uploading Files

Drag files from your computer and drop them anywhere in the file browser panel to upload them to the current folder. You can also click the Upload button to open a file picker dialog. Multiple files can be uploaded at once.

For details on which file formats PropellerDeck supports, see Supported File Types.

Right-Click Actions

Right-click any file or folder to open a context menu with the following options:

  • Rename — change the name of the file or folder inline.
  • Download — download the file to your local machine.
  • Delete — permanently remove the file. You will be asked to confirm before the file is deleted.

Tips

  • You can open most files directly from the file browser by clicking on them. PropellerDeck will open the file in a new tab using the appropriate viewer or editor.
  • To learn about syncing files from cloud storage, see Cloud Sync.
