Case Management
The case management tools in PropellerDeck help medical coders and case managers review patient cases, validate coding accuracy, and identify optimization opportunities.
Case Overview
The Case Overview tab provides a dashboard view of all cases. You can:
- Filter cases by date range, department, DRG, or status.
- Sort cases by admission date, discharge date, DRG weight, or review status.
- Search cases by patient ID, case number, or diagnosis text.
Case Detail View
Click on any case to open the detailed view, which shows:
- Patient demographics — Age, gender, admission and discharge dates.
- Diagnoses — All ICD-10-GM codes with principal diagnosis highlighted.
- Procedures — All OPS codes with dates.
- DRG Result — Current grouping result with PCCL and cost weight.
- Length of Stay — Actual vs. expected days, including low/high trim points.
Coding Review Workflow
The case management system supports a review workflow:
- New — Cases imported from the hospital information system.
- In Review — A coder is actively reviewing the case.
- Optimized — Coding changes have been made to improve accuracy or reimbursement.
- Finalized — The case has been reviewed and approved.
P21 Data
The P21 Data tab lets you work with §21 data exports (Datensatz gemäß §21 KHEntgG). This includes:
- Importing P21 data files
- Viewing case-level data in a structured format
- Running batch analyses across multiple cases
- Exporting filtered data sets
AI Assistance for Case Management
Your AI agent can help with case management tasks:
- Reviewing cases for missing or incorrect codes
- Suggesting additional diagnoses or procedures based on clinical documentation
- Explaining DRG assignment logic for specific cases
- Identifying cases with optimization potential
