Molecules — Projects
In FlowDeck, a molecule is a project — a container that groups related atoms (tasks) together. You might create a molecule for a product launch, a client engagement, a development sprint, or any other body of work your team is pursuing.
Creating a Molecule
To create a new molecule:
- Open FlowDeck from the left sidebar.
- In the sidebar panel, click the + button or the New Molecule button at the top of the molecule list.
- Give your molecule a name and an optional description.
- Click Create to save it.
Your new molecule appears immediately in the sidebar and is ready for tasks.
The Molecule Sidebar List
The left sidebar lists all molecules your organization has created. Each entry shows:
- The molecule name
- The number of open atoms (tasks) it contains
- A star icon you can click to favorite the molecule
Favorited molecules appear at the top of the list for quick access.
Favoriting Molecules
If you work in certain projects regularly, click the star icon next to the molecule name in the sidebar to favorite it. Favorited molecules are pinned above the full list so you do not have to scroll to find them.
Linking a GitHub Repository
Each molecule can be linked to a GitHub repository so that branches and pull requests created for this project's tasks are tracked in one place. To link a repository:
- Open the molecule and click Settings.
- Under the GitHub section, select or paste the repository you want to link.
- Save your changes.
