Tags and Priorities

How to use task types, tags, and priority levels in FlowDeck to categorize your work and filter your task lists effectively.

Tags and Priorities

FlowDeck gives you several ways to categorize and prioritize your atoms (tasks), making it easier to filter, sort, and understand what needs attention at a glance.

Task Types

Every task can be assigned a task type that describes the broad category of work it represents. Available task types include:

  • Software Development — engineering work such as coding, architecture, and testing.
  • Coaching — mentoring, training, and professional development activities.
  • Marketing — campaigns, content, brand, and growth tasks.
  • Sales — outreach, proposals, pipeline, and customer acquisition tasks.

Task types help your organization segment work across different functions and can be used for filtering and reporting.

Tags

Tags are freeform labels you can apply to a task to describe its nature in more detail. Common built-in tags include:

  • bug — something is broken and needs to be fixed.
  • feature — new functionality to be built.
  • enhancement — an improvement to existing functionality.

You can apply multiple tags to a single task. Tags appear as colored chips in the task list and detail view.

Priority Levels

Each task can be assigned one of three priority levels:

  • Low — not urgent; can be addressed when capacity allows.
  • Medium — standard priority; should be addressed in the normal course of work.
  • High — urgent; should be addressed as soon as possible.

Priority is shown as a colored indicator in the task list so your team can quickly spot what needs immediate attention.

Filtering and Sorting

In any molecule's task list, use the Filter and Sort controls in the toolbar to narrow down what you see:

  • Filter by one or more tags, a task type, a priority level, an assignee, or a status.
  • Sort by priority, deadline, creation date, or last updated.

Active filters are shown as chips in the toolbar; click the X on any chip to remove that filter.
