Comments and Collaboration
FlowDeck makes it easy to collaborate directly on tasks through a threaded comment system with real-time updates, file attachments, and @mentions.
Posting a Comment
To add a comment to a task, open the atom (task) detail view and scroll to the Comments section at the bottom. Click the comment input field, type your message, and press Submit or hit Ctrl+Enter (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Enter (Mac).
Comments support markdown formatting, so you can use bold text, bullet lists, code blocks, and other formatting to keep your messages clear.
Threaded Comments
You can reply directly to an existing comment to keep related discussion grouped together. Click the Reply button beneath any comment to open a threaded reply input. Threads are visually indented to make conversations easy to follow.
Real-Time Updates
FlowDeck comments update in real time via WebSocket. You do not need to refresh the page to see new comments from your teammates — they appear instantly as they are posted.
File Attachments
You can attach files to a comment by clicking the Attach icon (paperclip) in the comment toolbar, or by dragging and dropping a file directly into the comment input area. Attached files are visible inline within the comment and can be downloaded by anyone with access to the task.
@Mentions
To notify a specific team member, type @ followed by their name in any comment. A dropdown will appear showing matching members; select the person you want. They will receive a notification linking them directly to the comment.
