Skills
Skills are specialized capability packages that you load into your AI agent. Unlike tools — which enable specific actions — skills provide your agent with richer instructions, workflows, and domain knowledge for tackling particular types of work.
How to Activate Skills
- Open Workspace Settings from the sidebar or the top navigation.
- Scroll to the Skills section.
- Toggle the skills you want your agent to use.
Enabled skills load automatically into your agent's context. Your agent will also detect when a skill is relevant to what you're working on and apply it without you needing to ask.
Browsing Available Skills
Click the Skill Browser tab inside the Skills section to explore all skills available to your workspace. Each skill listing includes a name, description, and an indicator of what tasks it is best suited for. Use the search bar to filter by keyword.
Built-in Skills
PropellerDeck includes several built-in skills for common workflows:
- pptx — Generates polished PowerPoint presentations from an outline or conversation.
- xlsx — Creates structured Excel workbooks with formatted data, formulas, and charts.
- docx — Produces Word documents from your content, ready to download and share.
Building Custom Skills
If you want to create a skill tailored to your specific workflows, enable the skill-creator skill. This skill guides your agent through the process of defining, writing, and saving a new skill from scratch — no coding required.
